Mexico’s Antitrust and Telecom Regulators Sign Cooperation Agreement

MEXICO CITY, March 20, 2026 — Mexico’s competition authority and telecom regulator have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening coordination and improving regulatory effectiveness.

The Comisión Nacional Antimonopolio (CNA) and the Comisión Reguladora de Telecomunicaciones announced the agreement, which is intended to enhance communication channels and streamline collaboration between the two institutions.

Under the arrangement, the regulators will establish formal mechanisms to coordinate their work, align resources and clarify procedures in areas where their responsibilities intersect.

Officials said the agreement is designed to enable each authority to carry out its mandate more efficiently while facilitating joint work on issues that require coordinated oversight.

The framework also provides for specific cooperation mechanisms that can be activated to address particular regulatory needs through structured working arrangements.

Both institutions said the partnership reflects their commitment to closer institutional cooperation aimed at improving regulatory outcomes for consumers and the broader public.
