Meng Yang, Deputy Director of the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), conducted a four-day investigation in Gansu Province from December 17 to 20, focusing on fair competition reviews and enforcement against administrative power abuses that exclude or restrict competition.
During the visit, Meng Yang held discussions with enterprises and market supervision officials at provincial, municipal, and county levels to address challenges in enforcing the “Fair Competition Review Regulations” and combating administrative monopolies.
Meng Yang emphasized the importance of implementing the directives of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the decisions of the 20th CPC Central Committee to build a unified national market. He called for stronger efforts to combat local protectionism and market segmentation, enhance fair competition reviews, and bolster administrative monopoly enforcement to ensure equitable market participation and stimulate economic vitality.
Officials from the SAMR and the Gansu Provincial Market Supervision Bureau accompanied Meng Yang during the investigation.
