The Danish Competition Council has approved (18 December) the sale of three unmanned filling stations as part of OK’s acquisition of Coop Danmark. This divestiture ensures that competition in the supply of petrol and diesel in Høng, Gedser, and Otterup remains unaffected.
Søndersø Brugsforening will acquire the tank farm in Otterup, while Kalundborg Brugsforening will purchase the facilities in Høng and Gedser. These sales fulfill commitments made by OK to secure merger approval for its takeover of Coop Danmark earlier this year.
The Council emphasized that the merger conditions protect consumers in the affected areas from potential disadvantages. Approval of the divestitures and lease agreements brings OK closer to meeting the requirements set during the merger’s conditional approval in June 2024.
