The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has opened (26 november) an inquiry into the anticipated acquisition of ChampionX Corporation by Schlumberger Limited.
The CMA is seeking initial views from interested parties on whether the merger could significantly reduce competition in UK markets.
The invitation to comment closes on December 10, 2024.
The CMA’s formal Phase 1 investigation has not yet commenced but will be informed by feedback received during this consultation. Written representations about potential competition issues can be submitted before the deadline.
