Brazil’s CADE and Ibrac Sign Agreement to Boost Competition and Enhance Digital Services

The Brazilian Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) and the Brazilian Institute for Studies on Competition, Consumption and International Trade (Ibrac) have signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement aimed at advancing competition law and improving CADE’s electronic public services. Announced at the 30th International Seminar on Competition Defense, the partnership focuses on enhancing digital resources, promoting knowledge exchange, and monitoring legislative changes related to competition.

The agreement includes plans to track relevant legislative proposals in Brazil, fostering transparency without exchanging technical opinions to maintain CADE’s impartiality. It also establishes ongoing forums for discussion, training sessions, and educational materials to strengthen competition awareness.

A key element of the agreement is Ibrac’s support in testing CADE’s digital platforms, helping refine user interfaces and identify potential improvements. CADE President Alexandre Cordeiro highlighted the agreement as an essential step toward creating a fairer, more competitive market in Brazil.
