New Caledonia Competition Authority Publishes Decisions as Open Data

Paris, April 14, 2026 — The Autorité de la concurrence de la Nouvelle-Calédonie (ACNC) has made its entire body of decisional practice available online as open data in a transparency initiative developed in cooperation with the Autorité de la concurrence.

The dataset, published on the government portal data.gouv.nc, includes nearly 300 decisions and opinions issued by the authority.

Greater transparency and accessibility

The ACNC said the initiative aims to strengthen transparency and improve public access to the authority’s work while encouraging dialogue with businesses, legal professionals, academics and other stakeholders.

The open data release complements the authority’s existing practice of publishing all decisions and opinions on its website, but now provides the information in a centralised and structured format designed to facilitate research and analysis.

According to the authority, the move will help improve understanding of competition law in New Caledonia and increase predictability for businesses operating in the territory’s markets.

Cooperation with French authority

The project was developed as part of an ongoing partnership between the New Caledonian authority and its French counterpart.

The cooperation reflects a shared effort to promote a stronger culture of competition and economic development both in mainland France and in overseas territories.

The French authority has implemented a similar approach, making its own decisions and opinions available as open data on data.gouv.fr.
