ATHENS, Greece, March 6, 2026 — The Hellenic Competition Commission (HCC) has imposed reduced fines totaling nearly €500,000 on two companies for fixing resale prices of pet food products.
In decision No. 901/2026, the authority accepted settlement proposals submitted by Kompa Single-Member Limited Liability Company and Happy Dog SA Commercial Pet Food Company. The case concerns the markets for the import or production and retail sale of pet food for dogs and cats.
According to the HCC, the companies engaged in resale price maintenance in cooperation with their networks of distributors, both in physical and online stores. The firms monitored retail prices on online price-comparison platforms and contacted resellers to require them to align their prices with the companies’ price lists.
The investigation began after a report submitted through the authority’s anonymous whistleblowing platform. As part of the inquiry, the HCC’s Directorate-General for Competition carried out on-site inspections at companies active in the sector in November 2024.
The companies applied to enter the settlement procedure after sufficient evidence of an infringement was collected. The HCC concluded that the practices violated Article 1 of Greek competition law and Article 101 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
The authority imposed a fine of €387,498 on Kompa and €95,000 on Happy Dog.
