Warsaw, February 26, 2026 — Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has conducted searches at Allegro’s headquarters in Poznań and offices in Warsaw as part of an investigation into possible violations of competition rules.
The searches were ordered by UOKiK President Tomasz Chróstny, carried out with court approval and in the presence of police. The authority said it collected extensive material that is now under detailed analysis.
Suspected Self-Preferencing
The inquiry concerns suspected preferential treatment on the allegro.pl platform of Allegro’s own logistics services, including deliveries to Allegro One Box parcel lockers and services provided by companies participating in the Allegro Delivery program.
According to the authority, the suspected practices may place courier companies that are not part of the program at a competitive disadvantage.
“Podejrzenia naruszenia reguł konkurencji były na tyle poważne, że wystąpiliśmy do sądu i uzyskaliśmy zgodę na przeszukanie w siedzibie Allegro w Poznaniu oraz w biurach w Warszawie. Zebraliśmy obszerny i wartościowy materiał, który obecnie drobiazgowo analizujemy,” Chróstny said.
UOKiK noted that a company holding a dominant position in a market may not take actions that harm competitors, trading partners or consumers, adding that such a situation may arise in the case of Allegro.
Next Steps
The authority clarified that the explanatory proceedings are conducted in rem and not against specific companies. If the evidence confirms the suspicions, the UOKiK president may open formal proceedings and present charges against specific entities.
Participation in an agreement restricting competition may result in a fine of up to 10 percent of a company’s annual turnover.
