Washington, DC, November 5, 2025 — The Italian Competition Authority (Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato) has closed its investigation into alleged anticompetitive conduct by O-I Italy SpA, a subsidiary of O-I Glass, in connection with a collusion probe involving glass manufacturers and distributors in Italy, according to the company’s stock exchange filing.
The authority launched the probe in November 2023, focusing on possible coordination among glass suppliers in the sale of wine bottles in Italy. The inquiry included both O-I Italy and a joint venture in which it holds a 50% stake.
In October, the regulator formally notified O-I that the investigation had concluded without any findings, bringing the two-year probe into the company to a close.
Meanwhile, the company is being investigated by authorities in France and Ecuador for similar alleged conduct.
