G4S Found to Have Colluded in Security Services Tenders in Austria

Vienna, October 6, 2025 — The Austrian Cartel Court has found that G4S Secure Solutions GmbH took part in collusive arrangements in three tenders for personal security services, following an investigation by the Federal Competition Authority (BWB).

According to the BWB, G4S exchanged sensitive information and agreed on prices with a competitor in tenders issued by non-public contracting authorities between August 2019 and November 2022.

G4S applied for leniency and cooperated extensively with the BWB, providing information that helped clarify the facts of the case. In recognition of that cooperation, the BWB did not seek a fine, requesting instead that the Cartel Court issue only a finding of infringement.

Under the BWB’s leniency programme, companies that come forward to reveal their participation in a cartel and cooperate fully may receive reduced or no fines, provided that their assistance is truthful, unconditional, and prompt.

The decision against G4S is now legally binding.
