Ankara, September 16, 2025 — Turkey’s Rekabet Kurumu has accepted commitments offered by content producer OGM Prodüksiyon and broadcaster Star TV, agreeing to unwind a multi-year exclusivity pact.

The authority’s investigation examined a production and broadcasting agreement between OGM and Star TV, concluded in February 2022. The contract’s term exceeded five years and contained mutual exclusivity provisions. According to the agency, those clauses risked restricting rival producers and channels in the market for prime-time TV series, potentially infringing the country’s competition rules.

Under commitments, the parties offered to terminate the exclusivity provisions in their Exclusive Production and Broadcasting Cooperation Agreement; allow OGM to produce content for other channels and platforms; and permit Star TV to contract with other producers for prime-time series.

The authority said the remedies are quick to implement and effectively address the competition issues identified. The authority accepted the remedies and terminated the case under Article 43(3) of Law No. 4054.
