The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has established a Joint Labor Task Force to target and address deceptive, unfair, and anticompetitive practices harming American workers. Announced by FTC Chairman Andrew N. Ferguson, the task force brings together the FTC’s Bureau of Competition, Bureau of Consumer Protection, Bureau of Economics, and Office of Policy Planning.
The task force will focus on investigating and prosecuting harmful labor practices such as no-poach agreements, noncompete clauses, wage-fixing, and deceptive job advertisements. Additionally, it will work on sharing information across divisions to improve investigations and research to inform the public.
The initiative aims to strengthen the labor market, ensuring fair opportunities for workers across industries.
