Czech Antitrust Office Conducts Unannounced Inspections in Construction Sector

January 23, 2025 – The Czech Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) carried out unannounced inspections at two engineering construction companies last week over suspected bid-rigging in public procurement.

The inspections were prompted by allegations of collusion between the firms. However, ÚOHS clarified that the raids do not automatically imply legal violations or guarantee the initiation of administrative proceedings or penalties.

Further investigations will determine whether the companies engaged in anti-competitive practices.
