Dutch Trade Associations in Chiropractic Sector End Restrictions on Discounts

Netherlands, January 21, 2025 – Chiropractic trade associations in the Netherlands have pledged to stop interfering in their members’ discount policies, enabling clients to enjoy reduced prices and free exams.

The Dutch Chiropractic Federation (DCF), Christian Chiropractic Association (CCA), and National Register of Chiropractors Foundation (SNRC) removed bans on discounts and free exams from their bylaws after discussions with the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).

Previously, affiliated chiropractors were restricted in offering discounts and certain advertising strategies, limiting their ability to attract clients. Following the changes, chiropractic practices are now free to determine their pricing and advertising strategies, provided they avoid misleading practices.

ACM emphasizes that trade associations cannot recommend prices or impose restrictions that hinder competition, ensuring better consumer options in the chiropractic sector.
