The Competition Commission (CC) conducted unexpected on-site inspections on December 17 and 18, targeting a company active in the supply, marketing, wholesale, and retail of coffee, chocolate, and baby food.
The inspections are part of an ex officio investigation into potential anti-competitive practices, including horizontal or vertical agreements and possible abuse of a dominant position, in violation of national and EU competition laws (Articles 1 and 2 of Law 3959/2011 and Articles 101 and 102 TFEU).
The CC emphasized that such inspections are standard investigative measures and do not imply wrongdoing by the targeted entities. The Commission reaffirmed its role as a guardian of market competition, pledging to act swiftly against anti-competitive practices and enforce strict penalties where violations are confirmed.
