The Agency for the Protection of Market Competition (AZTN) has initiated (27 November) administrative proceedings against the trading company ŽITAR doo, based in Donji Miholjac, to investigate whether the company has used its significant bargaining power to impose unfair trade practices on its wheat suppliers.
The proceedings were started ex officio after AZTN identified potential violations while reviewing business practices under the Law on the Prohibition of Unfair Trade Practices in the Food Supply Chain (ZNTP). The investigation will determine whether ŽITAR doo’s actions have infringed upon provisions designed to protect suppliers from unfair treatment.
It is important to note that the initiation of administrative proceedings does not imply that a violation has been committed. AZTN will conduct a thorough investigation to examine all relevant facts and evidence before making a decision.
