Starting this week (26 November) providers of 19 very large online platforms (VLOPs) and very large search engines (VLOSEs) are releasing their first annual risk assessment and audit reports, as mandated by the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA). These reports assess risks such as illegal content, disinformation, and protecting minors, alongside measures to address them.
This milestone marks a push for greater transparency and accountability in the tech industry, promoting a safer online environment. The European Commission will host workshops in early 2025 to review the findings with stakeholders, including civil society and national regulators.
