The Changzhou Municipal Market Supervision Bureau in Jiangsu Province recently conducted cross-regional and cross-departmental inspections to strengthen fair competition and enhance the local business environment, SAMR announced today (18 November). The initiative targeted six cities, the Changzhou Economic Development Zone, and 12 municipal units, including the Development and Reform Commission.
Using a mix of online and on-site inspections, authorities reviewed 483 policy documents issued since 2023. The effort, which involved third-party assessments and collaborations with neighboring cities like Wuxi and Suzhou, marked the highest number of sampled documents in Changzhou’s history.
Preliminary findings indicate that local departments have implemented robust review mechanisms, but suspected violations are under further scrutiny. Officials highlighted the importance of this initiative in improving review efficiency, fostering awareness of fair competition, and encouraging corrective actions for problematic policies.
