The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has announced today (6 november) it will move forward with a detailed, phase 2 investigation into the proposed acquisition of ForFarmers UK Limited’s Burston and Radstock feed mills by Boparan Private Office Limited, through its subsidiary 2 Agriculture Limited.
The CMA indicated that, based on current evidence, the merger could potentially lead to a substantial reduction in competition in certain UK markets. The merger will undergo this deeper examination unless Boparan and ForFarmers offer acceptable commitments to resolve the CMA’s competition concerns.
