VILNIUS, March 18, 2026 — Lithuania’s competition authority said it will appeal a court decision overturning its ruling against companies accused of restricting resale prices of heat pumps.
The Competition Council of Lithuania said it disagrees with a judgment by the Regional Administrative Court, which annulled a 2024 decision imposing fines on Unit Invest and Iglu Tech.
The authority had previously found that Iglu Tech set resale prices and maximum discount levels for distributors of its heat pumps, limiting price competition in the market.
According to the original investigation, the company monitored online prices, issued warnings to distributors and threatened to terminate contracts if products were sold below the prescribed levels.
However, the court ruled that the authority had committed a procedural error by conducting the investigation only against Iglu Tech and not including its distributors in the proceedings, leading to the annulment of the decision.
The competition authority said it would challenge the ruling before Lithuania’s Supreme Administrative Court.
The case centres on resale price maintenance practices, a form of vertical restriction that can limit competition by preventing retailers from setting their own prices.
