Riyadh, February 19, 2026 — The General Authority for Competition (GAC) met with car dealers in Saudi Arabia to discuss sector developments and ways to enhance competition in the automotive market.
The meeting, held at the authority’s headquarters and chaired by GAC Chief Executive Officer Dr. Fahad bin Ibrahim Alshathri, forms part of the authority’s efforts to strengthen its partnership with the private sector and support the Kingdom’s business environment.
Sector Developments and Regulatory Trends
During the meeting, participants reviewed recent developments in the automotive sector, relevant regulatory and legislative trends, as well as challenges and growth opportunities.
The authority outlined its approach and mechanisms to support competition in the market, stimulate innovation, foster economic growth, and enhance the level of services provided to consumers.
Dr. Alshathri emphasized the GAC’s commitment to enabling economic sectors in line with sound market principles and strengthening compliance with the Competition Law and its implementing regulations. He highlighted the importance of collaboration with the private sector to ensure a fair and sustainable competitive environment.
Car dealers underscored the importance of continued cooperation with the authority and affirmed their commitment to contributing to competitive market conditions.
