Astana, December 25, 2025 — The Kazakh authority has concluded an investigation into “Damu Information Technology Center” LLP, finding violations linked to the pricing of services related to the DAMUMED medical information system and imposing a substantial administrative fine.
The investigation, conducted by the Astana department of the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan, focused on services for providing access to and technical maintenance of the DAMUMED integrated medical information system. The authority found that the company applied monopolistically high prices for these services.
Excessive Pricing Finding
According to the authority, the conduct concerned access to and technical support for the DAMUMED system, which is widely used in the healthcare sector. The pricing practices were found to breach Kazakhstan’s monopoly regulation rules.
Based on the findings, the Specialized Interdistrict Administrative Court of Astana imposed an administrative fine of KZT 286 million (around $556,402) on “Damu Information Technology Center” LLP.
The authority confirmed that the company has now paid the fine in full.
