Slovak Authority Fines Sinop Alfa $81K for Obstructing Inspection

Bratislava, October 28, 2025 — The Slovak authority fined Sinop Alfa €70,000 [approximately $81,419] after the company refused to hand over a work mobile phone during an unannounced inspection of its premises, the authority said.

On 10 June 2025, officials raided the premises of Sinop Alfa as part of an investigation into providers of air-conditioning, refrigeration, and heat-pump services. The firm repeatedly declined to present a business handset that could have contained evidence relevant to the ongoing inquiry, according to the authority.

The refusal was found to frustrate the purpose of the raid, breaching the duty to cooperate fully and to provide electronic information on request.

Penalty and context

The sanction amounts to roughly 1% of the company’s previous-year turnover. The decision is not yet final, and Sinop Alfa may appeal.
