Stockholm, October 16, 2025 – The Swedish Competition Authority (Konkurrensverket) has closed its investigation into food delivery platform Foodora after the company amended its pricing terms to clarify that restaurants are not required to match or undercut prices offered on rival platforms..

The authority launched the probe in spring 2025 following evidence that Foodora’s contracts contained price parity clauses preventing restaurants from offering lower prices on rival platforms.

In its follow-up analysis of the restaurant food delivery market, the authority surveyed restaurants using digital ordering platforms. The results show that most restaurants now operate on multiple platforms, with a sharp decline in those tied to a single provider. Only a small number reported being bound by exclusivity clauses, suggesting these agreements play a reduced role compared with earlier years.

However, price parity clauses—which restrict restaurants from offering lower prices through other sales channels—remain common. Many restaurants using Foodora said their contracts prevented them from setting lower prices elsewhere, while similar terms also appeared in some agreements with Uber Eats and Wolt.

Konkurrensverket said it would continue to monitor the market closely, citing ongoing uncertainty about how contractual terms are interpreted. The authority added that it may reopen investigations if future conduct appears to limit competition.
