Beijing, September 8, 2025 — China today launched the 2025 Fair Competition Policy Publicity Week, alongside the opening of the 11th China Fair Competition Policy International Forum, at a ceremony in Beijing.
The event was attended by Luo Wen, head of the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), and Tang Wenhong, a member of the Beijing municipal government’s Party leadership, both of whom delivered keynote speeches. The ceremony was chaired by Meng Yang, SAMR deputy director and a member of the agency’s Party leadership.
In his address, Luo stressed that China would continue to strengthen its legal and regulatory framework for fair competition, curb disorderly practices in the market, address improper administrative intervention, and deepen international cooperation in the field. He said fostering a culture of fair competition would support the building of a unified national market and provide momentum for China’s modernization drive.
This year’s campaign continues under the theme “Unified National Market, Fair Competition for the Future.” SAMR and the State Council’s Anti-Monopoly and Anti-Unfair Competition Committee Office, together with other agencies, will organize 85 key activities across the country. These will showcase progress in safeguarding competition, accelerating the development of a unified national market, and promoting high-quality economic growth.
The international forum, which opened the publicity week, aims to serve as a platform for global dialogue and cooperation in competition policy. Around 300 participants attended the launch, including officials from competition authorities in Brazil, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Portugal, South Korea, Russia, and Singapore, as well as representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and various domestic government departments, trade associations, academics, and businesses.
Wang Tiehan, director-general of SAMR’s Anti-Monopoly Bureau, also attended the ceremony.
