Poland’s UOKiK Accuses Radaway of RPM in Bathroom Equipment Market

Warsaw, 6 May 2025 — The President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK), Tomasz Chróstny, has initiated proceedings against Radaway, a well-known manufacturer and wholesaler of bathroom equipment, for suspected illegal price fixing. The company’s commercial director has also been personally charged.

According to UOKiK, Radaway may have coordinated fixed resale prices of its products — such as shower enclosures, shower trays, bathtub screens, and linear drains — in independent online stores since at least 2016. This practice, if confirmed, could have deprived consumers of access to lower prices for these goods.

“Furnishing a bathroom is one of the most significant expenses during a home renovation. Consumers deserve the opportunity to compare offers and find the best deals. In this case, they may have been denied that right due to suspected market collusion,” said President Tomasz Chróstny.

Evidence gathered during a search of the company’s premises suggests Radaway monitored retailers to ensure they adhered to the agreed prices. Stores that attempted to undercut these prices reportedly faced sanctions, including the loss of discounts. Some retailers may have even alerted Radaway if they noticed lower prices among competitors.

One Radaway manager is accused of directly overseeing the implementation of these pricing policies and penalizing non-compliant sellers.

If the allegations are confirmed, both the company and the implicated manager could face severe penalties. Businesses found guilty of anti-competitive agreements can be fined up to 10% of their annual turnover, while responsible individuals may face personal fines of up to PLN 2 million.
