Bulgarian Pharma Company Fined $6.8K for Obstructing Antitrust Probe

2 April 2025 — Bulgaria’s Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) has fined a pharmaceutical company BGN 11,674 (6,800 USD) for failing to cooperate with an ongoing antitrust investigation. The CPC found the company breached its obligation to assist the authority, obstructing the investigation related to a possible abuse of dominance through the unjustified refusal to supply a medicinal product.

The fine was imposed under Art. 100, para. 5 of the Law on Protection of Competition (LPC), which penalizes companies that fail to provide timely and accurate information during investigations. The decision may be appealed.
