The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) has granted conditional approval for the commercial cooperation between Singapore Airlines (SIA) and All Nippon Airways (ANA) on flights between Singapore and Japan.
While the cooperation promises benefits like improved connectivity and better fare options, CCCS identified competition concerns, particularly on the Singapore-Tokyo (SIN-TYO) route, where SIA and ANA hold a dominant market share.
To address these concerns, the airlines committed to maintaining seat capacity levels, submitting growth plans, monitoring low-cost carrier operations, and appointing an independent auditor. CCCS deemed these measures sufficient and approved the agreement, subject to ongoing compliance.
