The Indonesian Competition Commission (KPPU) has officially escalated its investigation into online lending (pinjol) practices, moving the case to the pre-trial phase. The decision follows findings suggesting potential violations of Indonesia’s Antitrust Law (Law No. 5/1999) by online lenders affiliated with the Indonesian Fintech Association (AFPI). The KPPU will now prepare evidence for preliminary hearings to determine if formal charges will be filed.
