Danish NCA Publishes Guidance on Sustainability Collaboration Under Competition Law

The Danish Competition and Consumer Authority has released (30 January) an article providing guidance on how competing companies can collaborate on sustainability initiatives while adhering to competition laws.

The article emphasizes that effective competition promotes innovation and enhances product quality, thereby supporting the development of sustainable solutions. It also references the European Commission’s 2023 guidelines on horizontal cooperation agreements, which include a new chapter on “sustainability agreements.” These guidelines aim to assist companies in pursuing sustainability goals without violating competition regulations.
