The Croatian Competition Agency (AZTN) has initiated (17 December) administrative proceedings against KAUFLAND HRVATSKA kd to investigate potential unfair trading practices in its dealings with suppliers of agricultural and food products.
The probe aims to determine whether Kaufland, by leveraging significant bargaining power, violated the Act on the Prohibition of Unfair Trading Practices in the Food Supply Chain (ZNTP).
AZTN emphasized that the initiation of proceedings does not imply a definitive finding of wrongdoing. The investigation will examine Kaufland’s business relationships with its suppliers and assess all relevant facts and evidence before reaching a conclusion.
Details of the ongoing case remain confidential to protect business secrets. AZTN will publish its final decision on its website upon completion of the investigation.
