The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has referred (20 November) the proposed acquisition of ForFarmers UK Limited’s Burston and Radstock feed mills by Boparan Private Office Limited, through 2 Agriculture Limited, for a detailed phase 2 investigation.
The CMA’s preliminary findings suggest the merger could result in a substantial lessening of competition in UK markets. The investigation follows a decision on November 6, 2024, that the deal would face further scrutiny unless the parties proposed acceptable remedies to address the concerns.
