CADE Launches Upgraded e-Notifica Platform to Streamline Merger Notifications

Brazil’s Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) announced (1 November) updates to its e-Notifica platform, an online system for submitting merger notifications under summary review. The new features, aimed at enhancing speed and integration, were introduced in a presentation led by General Superintendent Alexandre Barreto and IT General Coordinator Vinícius Eloy.

The e-Notifica platform was designed to modernize and digitalize the merger notification process, enabling a streamlined user experience. The system, connected to CADE’s databases and other public agency networks, allows for quicker analyses of straightforward merger cases that present minimal competition risks. As CADE evaluates each case’s complexity, the e-Notifica system promises a faster, more efficient review path for simple mergers, with the average review time dropping to nine days compared to the traditional process’s 14-day timeframe.

Barreto noted CADE’s goal to eventually require all summary notifications to be submitted through e-Notifica, highlighting how the tool has already improved processing speed. Eloy detailed the platform’s technical upgrades, including an enhanced text editor and new formatting options, adding that further updates are planned to meet user needs.

The platform, accessible through CADE’s website, is accompanied by support materials, including manuals and training videos. The full presentation, showcasing e-Notifica’s impact and potential, is available on CADE’s YouTube channel.
