China’s Regulator Summons Huolala Over Compliance Concerns

Beijing, September 23, 2025 — China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has summoned freight logistics platform Huolala (Lalamove’s mainland brand) for talks, instructing the company to strengthen antitrust compliance and ensure fair competition in the digital freight sector.

In the meeting, SAMR reminded Huolala of its obligations under the Anti-Monopoly Law of the People’s Republic of China, emphasizing that digital platforms must strictly comply with competition and market fairness rules and fulfill corporate responsibility for antitrust compliance.

The authority also warned about rectifying irregular practices in a timely manner, and maintaining fair participation in market competition.

Finally, the watchdog stressed that the company should safeguard the legal rights of truck drivers and consumers, and ensure that its platform rules and algorithms remain fair, just, and transparent.
