Orikan Drops Merger Bid with Duncan Following ACCC’s Concerns

12 May 2025 – Australia

Orikan Group has withdrawn its application for merger clearance from the ACCC and terminated its proposed acquisition of rival Duncan Technologies.

The decision follows the ACCC’s December 2024 Statement of Issues, which raised concerns that the deal would significantly reduce competition in the market for on-street parking solutions.

Both companies are major suppliers to local councils, and the ACCC warned the merger could lead to higher prices and reduced innovation. The watchdog ended its review on 9 May 2025 after being notified of the merger’s cancellation.
