The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) has extended its public consultation on the updated Leniency Guide until January 20, 2025, inviting input from society and the legal community. The consultation was initially launched during the 30th International Seminar on Competition Defense.
The updated guide, last revised in 2017, stems from the efforts of CADE’s Antitrust Leniency Working Group, formed in 2023. This collaborative initiative involved six meetings in 2024, bringing together around 100 participants to refine leniency agreement procedures.
Deputy Superintendent General Fernanda Machado emphasized the importance of dialogue in achieving efficient and legally secure agreements, stating that improved collaboration ensures quicker and more precise investigations.
Interested parties are encouraged to review the proposed updates and contribute via CADE’s website.
