Korea’s FTC Hosts Cartel Business Briefing in Seoul

The Fair Trade Commission (FTC), led by Chairman Han Ki-jeong, is set to host a “Cartel Business Briefing Session” today (12 November) in Seoul. The session aims to raise awareness of cartel-related issues and encourage companies to self-regulate against unfair joint actions.

The event will cover cartel laws, regulations, major cases, and key industry challenges, targeting executives and employees of businesses and organizations. The FTC emphasizes the importance of this session, describing cartels as a “vicious form of market misconduct” that disrupts economic fairness by manipulating prices or supply.

Additionally, the FTC is actively working to prevent anti-competitive behavior not only domestically but also among South Korean businesses operating in the U.S., EU, and China through educational outreach and compliance guidance.
